Mountain Guards

Rescue operations decreased

Through the ASCENT project, Odda municipality and Trolltunga AS received assistance with the introduction of mountain guards, which reduced the number of rescue operations from 40 in 2016 to 15 in 2017.

Through ASCENT project, Odda municipality and Trolltunga AS received valuable assistance with the development of management plans, new skills for the managers and path practitioners, the development of a better system for communicating with the hikers and the introduction of mountain guards. In the course of the project period, Trolltunga AS has been able to implement measures which improves health and safety for hikers and protects the environment from erosion.
