The Geo Virtual Reality Tool (GeoVR) enables visitors to explore the geological and natural beauties from all DRIFTING APART partner sites through their phone/computers. The new information centre was open in Katla Geopark, and together with new information panels, maps, signs and a rock exhibition meets the needs of tourist coming to the area. Project partners have together developed several globally transferable Toolkits which provide guidance on how to manage a Geopark, engage with local communities and prepare marketing information for visitors.

The Katla CentreDrifting Apart provided an important step in the development of information about Katla Geopark; GeoSaga information centre. Its purpose is to educate, build capacity and raise awareness of natural values and issues for everyone visiting the Geopark; tourists, local inhabitants, older and younger generation and school's groups. It is a focal point for tourism and for the community. Education toolkits and GeoVR help us engage with visitors and reach out to partner areas, UNESCO Geoparks and internationally.
