In total there are 79 European Territorial Cooperation programmes covering all European regions. 15 are transnational programmes just like the Northern Periphery and Arctic programme, while 60 are crossborder programmes and 4 are interregional. Interreg is the name that unites all of them.
Until now, anybody interested in finding out anything about any of these programmes would have to search and browse across several websites, each displaying information in a different way. With the new Interreg.eu portal it will be easier to access information since it will all be in one place.
An interactive map of Europe will show what programme is active in each region or country. By clicking on the programme name, one will get more detailed information about : what are the thematic and specific objectives, what is the potential area of cooperation for each project partnership, what programme has an open call and also who is recruiting. And of course, if you are facing any difficulties in explaining what is Interreg, the About section will help you with simple infographics and key facts.
