We are deeply saddened to announce that our dear colleague and friend Rachel Burn unexpectedly passed away on Saturday 3rd June 2023.
Rachel joined the Northern Periphery Programme Secretariat in 2012, following her passion for Europe and regional development. Since then, she assisted several NPP and NPA projects helping them realise the vision of making the Northern Periphery and Arctic area an even better place to live. Rachel’s professionality also contributed to making projects succeed at several Regiostars Awards, in addition to being a cornerstone of the Arctic Awards projects competition.
We remember her as a dedicated, creative, and cheerful colleague. We nicknamed her “Atmosphere Manager” for her good spirit and talent for making people feel at ease, also in professional settings.
She will be dearly missed by the Interreg NPA community.
Rachel is survived by her family - 2 children Alice and Oskar as well as her parents Adrian and Barbara, and her brother Michael.
The programme staff at the Joint Secretariat, the Managing Authority, as well as Monitoring Committee members and Regional Contact Points extend their deepest condolences to Rachel’s family and loved ones.
