The Arctic Award is an annual project competition designed to highlight exceptional projects focusing on topics of particular relevance to the Arctic area. The Awards were launched for the first time in 2017. Since then, 4 editions were held selecting 8 Arctic Awards winners. More information about the competition and previous winners can be found here.
Over the past four years, the Arctic Awards have attracted increasing attention from institutional stakeholders, such as MEPs from Arctic regions and the European Commission, but slightly decreasing interest form the main target group: the projects funded by the Arctic Cooperation programmes. Therefore, the Arctic Cooperation programmes decided to pause the competition during 2021 and use this time to evaluate the past experience and come up with new exciting ideas.
An online questionnaire is open to gather feedback and experiences from all projects funded by the Arctic Cooperation programmes (Interreg Nord, Botnia-Atlantica, Northern Periphery and Arctic, and ENI CBC Karelia and Kolarctic).
All project partners are invited to contribute to the questionnaire, regardless of having previous experience with the Award, as we are looking for new ideas and suggestions to make the competition more attractive and eventually increase the visibility of Interreg projects having an impact on people living in the Arctic.
