This year, the Interreg NPA Annual Event will look at how cooperation projects can support reskilling, attracting, and retaining the needed workforce in Northern Europe´s peripheral areas. The event will also be a source of inspiration for communities across the Northern Periphery and Arctic to work together, benefitting from their respective experience and capacity.

Navigate your future, join NORTHERN SKILLS Conference!

The NORTHERN SKILLS Conference will take place on 8th November 2023 in Skellefteå, Sweden. Followed by a site visit to Skellefteå Science City on 9th November. Lead Partners of all main projects are requested to attend the Lead Partner seminar on 9th November.

The conference will be the opportunity to exchange on:

  • Local solutions addressing the shortage of workforce and the impacts of changing economies and societies.
  • How Nordic communities are preparing young people for after-school life.
  • What skills and competences are needed for future jobs, and how to bridge the emerging talents with the industry needs.
  • How can small rural communities and large industries join efforts for green and sustainable solutions and thereby become more attractive for young people.

In addition to an exciting panel of speakers from the NPA regions, participants can join the NPA Marketplace - an interactive networking session to pitch a project idea or find partners for projects, - or attend the Recruit & Retain workshop about attracting and retaining skilled workforce, with a particular focus on the healthcare sector.

The registration to the NORTHERN SKILLS Conference opens on 4th September and will close on 8th October. The registration form can be accessed here.

Accommodation in Skellefteå

A contingent of rooms has been pre-booked at the Comfort Hotel near the venue. An early bird rate (1.695 SEK per night, incl. breakfast) is available for guests who book their accommodation before 8th October. Please, register to the event to receive necessary Hotel booking instructions.
