The NPA launches a Covid-19 Call for project applications

Opening on 20th May until 30th September, the NPA is opening a call to mobilise its expert community to build on the extensive e-health experience and submit project applications addressing the multiple challenges posed by this health crisis.

In order for the NPA to make use of the opportunities offered by the CRII+  and to keep the momentum of the NPA COVID-19 Response Group, it was decided to open a preparatory project call addressing COVID-19 response initiatives.

This call is open for projects to draw on the extensive e-health expertise among NPA projects and others, to explore adaptive responses to the COVID-19 virus, to exchange innovative solutions and to pool information for the benefit of the general public and healthcare staff.

Projects submitted in this call are expected to make an overview of and analyse the state of the COVID-19 crisis, as well as successful and less successful practices in the NPA area relevant to the chosen theme and the geographical context, to be able to make recommendations for future actions, policy responses, etc.

Terms of Reference have been formulated encouraging applicants to address specific themes and expected results.

The themes to be addressed are:
1.    Clinical aspects
2.    Health and well being
3.    Technology solutions
4.    Citizens engagement and Community response
5.    Economic impacts
6.    Emerging themes

An Umbrella Project will also be funded, with the aim of ensuring coordination among all thematic projects, and collating their results.

All potential applicants are strongly encouraged to join the NPA Covid-19 response group to coordinate applications and establish the best possible partnership and project.

This call is open for small projects, lasting between 2 and 4 months with an indicative budget of up to 45.000 EUR and a co-financing rate of 100%. Project submissions will be accepted at any point during the call opening period and will be assessed and selected within 4 weeks from submission in order to promptly kick off.

The NPA expertise collected through a COVID-19 call can be mobilised for the benefit of all Europeans in the fight against the spread of the COVID-19 virus, and a better handling of the pressures on the healthcare system and society at large. The new knowledge developed as part of this call shall inform future actions supported by the programme.

An Online Q&A session is planned to take place on May 27 at 13:00 CET. Details to be announced on NPA website.
