Project Creative Momentum
Project Acronym | Creative Momentum |
---|---|
Project Title | Creative Momentum |
Summary
Creative Momentum (CM) tackles the peripherality and distance to market challenges experienced by entrepreneurs in the creative and cultural industries across the Northern Periphery and Arctic area, as well as low economic diversity in these regions. It provides enterprise development and market expansion spaces, services and supports with a transnational focus. At the core of CM is a shared vision that good ideas should transcend distance and that creativity is not bounded by geography. CM recognises and embraces the comparative advantage of a peripheral perspective and works to enable creative industries in the NPA area to bring this unique perspective to the global stage. Creative Momentum: make it local; make it global.
Objectives
The project objectives are to: Promote entrepreneurship and collaborative innovation, increase market reach and realise market potential, and, strengthen the creative industries support ecosystem
Impacts
Tangible
Business development: | To help grow the professional network, creative entrepreneurs from 4 regions were matched under the Creative2Creative Matching. For 6 months they were sharing their knowledge and experience under the supervision of a mentor, who directed their work. Participants agreed that new contacts, connections with like-minded entrepreneurs, knowledge exchange, and exploration of joint project ideas were the main benefits of this transnational cooperation. |
---|---|
Improved competitiveness: | Creative Momentum offered Toolkits for SMEs to help them develop. A video pitching toolkit offers guidance on how to prepare effective 2 minutes’ video and a business model toolkit helps emerging talents and early stage entrepreneurs to develop a business model. Two mobile apps were developed to connect creative businesses with tourist markets in Iceland and Northern Ireland. The apps include information about 53 creative enterprises, galleries and museums. |
Intangible
Raising awareness: | The project organised 41 Creative Exchange information & networking events in 5 regions with combined total attendance of over 1,600 people, mainly creative entrepreneurs. These events helped to raise awareness around topics identified by the target group e.g. social media, crowd funding, selling online, pricing, marketing with video, web analytics, innovation. |
