As an eco-tourism product, exploiting the natural resources of the zone in a manner that is sustainable and environmentally viable; this new sea route will be marketed internationally and will have a common branding, booking and information system.

Objectives

The project objectives are to: Strengthen the market reach and customer base for SMEs in remote communities, development of an exclusive product package to attract high end customers, and, provide opportunities for additional spin off activities- separate from the yachting facilities- such as whale watching, walking tours, traditional music evenings, cultural events, photographic expeditions.

Impacts

Tangible

Business development:

The project helped to develop marinas and pontoon facilities along the route, which led to an increased number of vessels sailing in the area. More visitors in these remote areas brought new business opportunities to local enterprises. Partners created a valuable network and established contacts in new regions, in addition to knowledge and experience exchange.
