---|---|
Project Title | Energy Saving Lighthouse Cities in the NPA region |
Summary
Pre-Lighthouse prepares the proper e-Lighthouse –project which will focus on encouraging and supporting cities and municipalities in NPA region to approach towards carbonless society. Showing the roadmap for it, the biggest Covenant of Mayors signature cities in each NPA country will create a concept and model how to develop and implement a Sustainable Energy Action Plan (SEAP), how to reach its targets, how to measure it and finally reach a general target to meet and exceed the European Union 20 % CO2 reduction by 2020.
By the proven, replicable and documented models created in each NPA country by the main city, other cities, towns and municipalities will be encouraged and supported to follow the suit by signing CoM and implementing SEAPs.
Key elements of reaching SEAP targets are systematic renovation of municipal buildings towards nZEB, planning and rationalizing traffic arrangements, informing and enlightening both individual dwelling builders and industrial plants about ways to save energy, increase energy efficiency and reduce carbon emissions.
