Seven years of cooperation between people, communities, and organisations across thousands of kilometres made a difference in the Northern Periphery and Arctic regions.

The project helped creative entrepreneurs to grow their network by matching them with their counterparts in one of 5 participating regions. Sallyann Marron from Sallyann´s Bags collaborated with Finnish textile designer who helped her to reach the designer who designed her first textile print. Both women also met at Urkult Folk festival in Sweden. Ruth Graham, an illustrator from Donegal county, was paired with a Swedish designer. For 6 months they were sharing their knowledge and experience under the supervision of a mentor. New contacts, connections with like-minded entrepreneurs, knowledge exchange, and exploration of joint project ideas were the main benefits of these cooperations.
Sallyann Marron
Sallyann's BagsAfter working together online through Creative Steps 2.0, I got to meet Annika in person during the Urkult Folk Festival in August 2016. It was here that Annika put me in contact with a Finnish design collective who designed first unique print for my Sallyann’s bags called Meadow. The original print proved so popular that two more colour patterns were developed & in 2017 they designed another unique ‘Sallyann’ print Fushia. These unique prints have allowed my business to take major step forward.
