Co-producing a tourist map

Citizens created an online tourist map

Donegal County Council has together with its municipalities co-produced different pre-planning spatial services. A local community in Letterkenny collected information about historical and cultural locations that quickly turned into a walking map. Based on this information, the Community Group developed a tourism marketing app, which has been translated into 5 languages. The app serves as an example how individuals can feed and develop additional services for the community.

Letterkenny Cathedral Quarter

Being involved in IMPROVE allowed us to use and promote the Cathedral Quarter group and to help design a process to help similar groups going forward. It was very interesting to see how the Local Authority thought in terms of designing public systems and how its local input could help that process. It helped our goals as a group to be involved and it opened up our minds as to how the Local Authority can help us, and we them.
