Digital tour in factory

Bringing machinery production closer to customers

Due to covid-19 restrictions businesses were neither able to showcase their products on global fairs nor invite the visitors to their factories/production lines. Under these circumstances Waratah OM Ltd, a company that designs and produces harvesters and measurement devices in forestry industry, decided to create a virtual tour at their factory in Joensuu. Together with the media students from Karelia University of Applied Sciences, Waratah designed a 360 digital tour that shows and explains how their products are manufactured. SMEs across Finland working in different fields such as clothing, food & drinks, sport, health & well-being, tourism have also explored how immersive technologies can be adapted to their marketing needs.

Waratah partnered with Karelia UAS students and project team to create a virtual tour of the production facilities in Joensuu. As the pandemic restricted travel and meetings, we could not invite our clients to explore our products and facilities. That is why we wanted to try a virtual tour. The collaboration with Karelia UAS team was very fluid and the virtual tour communicates well the quality of Waratah products and processes.
