Easier care delivery

With night cameras and key-free locks to reduce driving at night and for quicker responses

The Association of Local Authorities in Västernorrland has adopted new technologies to improve care delivery and the working conditions of the staff tasked with home assistance. Examples of these services are key-free locks that allow personnel to open the patients´ homes with an app and remote cameras that are used to remotely look after elderly people at night. Sharing different practices among IMPROVE partners allowed organizations to adopt new solutions much faster, based on the experience already gained in other regions. The chosen IT solutions not only allow a quicker response and less pressure on the care staff, they also reduce CO2 emissions.

The project has led to increased cooperation within the region and more understanding of the differences between the rural areas of different countries. Activities undertaken during the project have led to increased quality in the home service of our sparsely populated municipality and provided us with the opportunity to create networks to enable a qualitative and economically improved vision for the future of elderly care for our region.
