Energy visualization

Real-time energy use decreased

In Sweden, the municipality of Umeå and Umeå University cooperated in studying the energy measurements of the most northerly built passive house, a preschool in Sweden, Hedlunda. The idea of showing real time energy usage in a public kitchen has also been tested in two municipality kitchens. As it turned out, the energy visualization has positively affected the way staff uses the kitchen resources and contributed to energy reduction.

Karin Isaksson

Umeå municipality

In this project, Umeå municipality and Umeå University extensively collaboraed. This collaboration was valuable for both organizations as it provided opportunities for exchange of knowledge and ideas between a research group and a public institute, to address some problems in the building sector. The project has helped in developing existing projects, introducing new projects/models, gaining new knowledge and in getting insights from some interesting / inspiring projects from partner countries.
