Scientific tourism is a new kind of tourism combining exceptional travel adventures with scientific knowledge. The goal is to offer more than just a regular holiday, but to also learn by experience, to inspire, and satisfy the curiosity among the travelers. The Wonder Seekers platform offers different activities that can teach visitors about science, history, culture, and nature. They follow eco-tourism and sustainability principles outlined by the UNWTO and provide information before and after the trip. Scientific tourism can also provide opportunities and source of income for locals who decide to share their traditional knowledge and experience, such as hunting or reindeer herding, with tourists.

Taiga Travel FoundationThe project has confirmed that we are well on our way in offering science-based tourism products about Northern lights chase expeditions. It has been a good experience to gain insight in how others are viewing this type of tourism and it has encouraged us to apply the lessons learned to a wider array of our own products. I also hope we have been able to show how we incorporate our own sustainability practises as well as meaningfully contribute to the discussions we've had.
