Municipal e-services

Citizens actively participating in municipal planning

Icelandic municipality Borgarbyggð enhanced its Planning and Environmental Department e-services which motivated its citizens to actively participate in public debate and to provide recommendations on public issues such as the deployment of high speed broadband. Citizens can also use it for applications and to monitor the progress of their cases without travelling to the municipality.

There is an improvement in e-services of Borgarbyggð. There are improvements in interactive communication through Íbúagátt. The work with IMPROVE has helped defining the needs for co-production and communication. There are still improvements to be made and they are planned in next version of the web.
